Rules and Regulations
As The Great Scavenger Hunt has developed over the last 4 years, we've come up with a few must-have rules and requirements that we feel you should know about.
All of these are pretty set in stone and we follow them pretty closely.
Please read thru these and abide by them carefully. We don't wanna have to tell you that you can't hunt because of these reasons.

  1. All Teammates (including photographer) must be at least 18 years old or older.
  2. There are only 4 members to a team.
    • NOTE: You can have a 5th person, but only as a photographer.
  3. All Teammates must live within the United States.
  4. Final judges' decisions are just that. Final!
  5. Once you submit your name and images to the site, that submission is final!
    • NOTE: You may indicate not to have your name posted on the site during sign-up by requesting a nickname. You may not, however, ask to have your legal name changed to a nickname post hunt if you did not provide a nickname upon sign-up.
  6. You cannot photoshop images. All images must be original.
  7. No photographing an image off of a website unless stated otherwise.
  8. Each picture can only count for one item. Meaning that if you take a picture that completes two items, it can only count for one of those items.
  9. All photos must be taken within the 24 hour time limit. Any photos taken before or after official start and end of hunt will not be counted!
  10. If we can't figure out what your photo is supposed to be, we won't count that either.
  11. Entire Team means that every teammate is present in the photo. If you have a photographer, they are exempt from being in the photo.
  12. Someone means anyone! Teammate, your photographer, a stranger, your mom, a construction worker, that creepy guy that asks for money who you know is going to use it to buy booze, anyone!
  13. Stranger means someone that you do not know previous to the hunt.
    • NOTE: Once you use a stranger in a photo, they cannot be used as a stranger again. You know them! They are a part of your family now.
  14. Person, Place, or Thing consists of pictures without Teammates (unless stated otherwise)
  15. Teammate means just that. Only 1 Teammate is required to be present in the photo.
  16. Male/Female Teammate means that a teammate of the specified gender must be used in the photo.
    • NOTE: If your team does not have a required gender present, then the photo becomes an Entire Team photo.
  17. Have Fun!
