Welcome to The Great Scavenger Hunt 2011! I see many new faces out there (and quite a few familiar ones). If this is your first time hunting – welcome. If you’ve done this before – you sick masochist. Honestly though, we really appreciate you returning and supporting the hunt every year. It warms the cockles of my heart. And some other cockles I have. By now you’ve realized that this list is quite long. 400+ items! We did pair it down a bit this year (you’re welcome!). And you have roughly half an hour to review, memorize, and become sexually aroused before the hunt begins! Let’s go over some rules first. 1. All Teammates (including photographer) must be at least 18 years old or older. 2. There are only 4 members to a team. NOTE: You can have a 5th person, but only as a photographer. 3. All Teammates must live within the United States. 4. Final judges' decisions are just that. Final! 5. You cannot photoshop images. All images must be original. 6. No photographing an image off of a website unless stated otherwise. 7. Each picture can only count for one item. Meaning that if you take a picture that completes two items, it can only count for one item. 8. All photos must be taken within the 24 hour time limit. Any photos taken before or after official start and end of hunt will not be counted! 9. If we can't figure out what your photo is supposed to be, we won't count that either. 10. Entire Team means that every teammate is present in the photo. If you have a photographer, they are exempt from being in the photo. 11. Someone means anyone! Teammate, your photographer, a stranger, your mom, a construction worker, that creepy guy that asks for money who you know is going to use it to buy booze, anyone! 12. Stranger means someone that you do not know previous to the hunt. NOTE: Once you use a stranger in a photo, they cannot be used as a stranger again. You know them! They are a part of your family now. 13. Person, Place, or Thing consists of pictures of random crap we ask you to find or do. Remember where’s Waldo? This isn’t like that. 14. Teammate means just that. Only 1 Teammate is required to be present in the photo. 15. Male/Female Teammate means that a teammate of the specified gender must be used in the photo. NOTE: If your team does not have a required gender present, then the photo becomes an Entire Team photo. 16. Have Fun! Now we’re going to introduce a new section of the hunt. If you donate or have donated to the hunt, thank you! And to show our appreciation, we want to give most of it back! If you have already donated $10 to The Great Scavenger Hunt this year, you have been entered into a mini contest. If you would like to be entered into the contest, please donate via the button on the TGSH website. There are 10 items on the list highlighted in green. If your Team is voted (by the judges) as having the best picture for one of the items, you will win 10% of the entire pot. So if 10 teams donate, then you could win $10 per item. You can win for multiple items. What we’re looking for is quality pictures. Going that extra step, working a little harder to have a funny picture, taking your time to find the right moment. You know the good ones when you see them and that’s what we’re looking for. Like I said, if you’ve already donated, then you’re entered. You have until April 22 (Fri) to donate $10 to The Great Scavenger Hunt and enter your pictures into the running. You can donate more, but we’re only putting $10 into the pot, so if you put in more we will keep it and spend it on Scavenger Hunt Expenses. Like gum. And lube.
